Your Volusion Store on the iPhone

Not fully released yet (in Beta), Mcommerce already looks like a pretty nice addition to Volusion’s growing inventory of goodies.

For those who are unfamiliar with the iPhone, when users type in your website either in Safari (on the iPhone), via the Google app or some other search app, your Mcommerce enabled site (done with a checkbox in the admin) automatically detects you are using an iPhone and brings up the consolidated UI. For users that want to total site experience, there is still a link to that in the iPhone interface.

I don’t see any search functions yet nor do I see product reviews and related products yet, however it’s very, very quick on 3G and decent on the Edge network. While Mcommerce Beta allows your iPhone visitors to browse around, if you add anything to your cart, you are routed out of the application and into the main sites ShoppingCart.asp page where you finish your purchase

I should also mention that this feature will be free! How cool is that? I have been tracking mobile access to all my clients sites via Google Analytics and I can already tell this will be a nice way to round out these merchants’ offering to their users.
