Your HTTP Refer list is a log or list either found in your raw server log files or created by your metrics application. It is essentially a list of everyone who points to you. This can be search engines, personal web sites, forums, etc.

What’s the “deconstruction” part?

Simply put, it using this “list” to produce a powerful BL generator. By modifying the anchor text and the A HREF TITLE=”" according to your keywording of particular landing pages.

Some of the links which point to you are completely out of your control. Given. But with any legitimate website, there are always a large handful of http referrers which you have or could have a relationship with and, in effect, have the link to YOUR site changed. WORK THIS ANGLE. It is a powerful agent. Take a look at Wikipedia.org for a working example. It has both interlinking and back linking which uses this method totally!

Note: For all vendors or organizations in your industry be sure to shoot them an email and have them link to you. Get integrated into all the online magazines, educational sites (.edu) and portals you can. Gives you both street “cred” and lets the bots know who they’re crawlin’
